For one year now, a 29.9 kWp photovoltaic system has been supporting the energy supply at our Essen site. The installation forms part of our long-term strategy to make both production and administration more resource-efficient.
Results from the First Year of Operation
The system generated 25 MWh of solar power and reduced CO₂ emissions by 10 tonnes.
With a self-sufficiency rate of 90%, it covers the majority of our electricity demand through in-house generation.
Impact on Our Processes
The electricity produced directly supports assembly, administration, e-mobility and site infrastructure.
Self-generated power increases our energy independence and stabilizes supply during ongoing operations.
Outlook
The photovoltaic system represents one component of our ongoing sustainability development. Additional technical measures are currently under evaluation.
