FSP-Tech® supplies valve lockouts that block fittings in position once they are closed and keep the flow of material or energy interrupted during maintenance work. The product range covers handwheels from 25 mm to 600 mm in diameter, ball valves from 0.25 inch to 8 inch as well as wing-handle, diaphragm, boiler drain, angle and disc valves. Lockouts for gas cylinder handwheels and a lockout for compressed air couplings are also available. Depending on the version, the lockouts are made of polypropylene, polyamide or coated steel, and the lockout for compressed air couplings of stainless steel. Transparent caps allow the valve position to be seen. Every version accepts at least one safety padlock.
Valve lockouts are used wherever pipelines, vessels or compressed air networks are isolated before maintenance work and secured against unintentional opening. Typical applications are found in the chemical and petrochemical industry, in pharmaceutical and food production, in wastewater treatment plants, in power generation and in plant engineering. On pipelines, ball valve lockouts and handwheel lockouts hold the closed position, on machines coupling lockouts interrupt the compressed air supply, and in laboratories and pilot plants diaphragm and wing-handle valves are blocked with caps. Where several trades work on the same line, the lockout can be extended for additional padlocks with a lockout hasp.
Which lockout suits a fitting depends on its design, the handwheel diameter and the valve size. We record the isolation points in your plant, assign the matching version to each of them and on request supply the complete shadow board equipped for the relevant plant area.
