FSP-Tech® supplies lockout systems for electrical installations that secure isolated circuits against re-energization and thereby implement the second of the five safety rules. The product range covers miniature circuit breakers, fuse switches, screw-in base fuses, load break switches, motor protection switches, moulded case circuit breakers and plug connections. The lockout devices are made of fiber-reinforced polyamide, ABS or polycarbonate depending on the application, and of anodized aluminum for mechanically stressed positions. Non-conductive materials allow use directly inside the distribution board. Every version accepts at least one safety padlock. DIN EN 17975:2025 provides for energy isolation points that can be reached without disassembly and without additional aids. Where existing installations do not meet this condition, the lockout devices establish lockability retrospectively.
Lockout systems for electrical installations are used wherever circuits are isolated before maintenance work and secured against re-energization. Typical applications are found in mechanical engineering, petrochemicals, power generation, pharmaceutical and food production, electrical engineering, medical technology as well as transport and construction. In distribution boards, blanking plugs and switch lockouts secure individual outgoing circuits, on machines motor protection switches and main switches are blocked, and on construction sites and service assignments plug lockouts secure mobile loads. Where several trades work on the same installation, every lockout device can be extended for additional padlocks with a lockout hasp.
Which lockout devices you need depends on the switchgear and fuse systems in place. We review your energy isolation points, put together the matching equipment and on request supply the complete shadow board equipped for the relevant plant area.
