FSP-Tech® supplies cable lockouts and lockout hasps for isolation points that cannot be secured with a single lockout device. Cable lockouts guide a plastic-coated steel cable around handles, levers or several outgoing circuits and pull it tight to length. The cable lengths range from 300 mm to 2.74 m, and one version is retractable and infinitely adjustable. Lockout hasps extend one isolation point to up to six safety padlocks, so that every person involved secures with their own padlock. The versions are made of steel, aluminum or polyamide. Non-conductive lockout hasps are suitable for work on electrical installations.
Cable lockouts and lockout hasps are used wherever an isolation point does not fit a lockout device or where several people work on the same installation. Cable lockouts secure large handwheels, levers, chains and several outgoing circuits of a distribution board in one go. Lockout hasps are used as soon as several trades secure at the same time, for example during maintenance shutdowns involving external service providers. Every person attaches their own padlock, and the isolation point stays locked until the last padlock has been removed. For larger groups, securing is organized through a group lock box.
Whether a cable lockout or a lockout hasp is the right solution depends on the design of the isolation point and on the number of people involved. We go through the isolation points with you, define the cable lengths required and on request supply the complete shadow board equipped for the relevant plant area.
